Hi, I’m Tom Lewisohn
(or tɔm ˈlejvɪsən in the International Phonetic Alphabet)
I’m an English teacher, speech coach and storyteller from the UK.
Over the past 13 years, I’ve seen many talented speakers being held back because of how they sounded. I’ve also seen an industry filled with exaggerated claims about achieving a native accent within a month – even though research shows this just isn’t true. I wanted to change that, so I launched the Honest Accent Coaching programme to help people make rapid improvements with real measurable results.
In 2021, I moved to the Netherlands and developed a popular storytelling course at the Volksuniversiteit for second language speakers to communicate about their work and passions with fire in their voices and precision in their words.

I’m from the south of England, I’ve lived in five countries, and I’m now settled in The Hague, Netherlands. I speak Mandarin Chinese, plus a fair bit of Japanese, Finnish and French – when I’m not teaching, I’m working on my Dutch!
